LOMPOC, Calif. — Two Union Pacific railroad crews are making Lompoc their making repairs to the tracks and signals in Santa Barbara County.

More than 200 crew members, who are scheduled to work on alternating shifts for two to three months, are staying in local hotels, eating in local restaurants, shopping in local stores and refueling their trucks at local gas stations, creating a significant boost in Lompoc’s sagging economy, according to city and chamber of commerce officials.
