RAVENNA, Neb. — In this town, the “carps” and “coyotes” are disappearing. The “turkey sheds” might go, too. This central Nebraska town is losing its status as the place where BNSF Railway swaps railroad crews as trains cross the state, ending a tradition — and an economic boost — that goes back to the 1960s.
