UP names Portland superintendent

ALBANY, Ore. — The Union Pacific Railroad has named Todd Wimmer general superintendent for transportation services of its Portland Service Unit, which includes the mid-valley. The appointment is effective immediately.
Wimmer succeeds Ken Hunt, who was promoted to assistant vice president of operations in Los Angeles.
As general superintendent of transportation services, Wimmer, 33, is responsible for the safe operation of an average of 90 trains a day over nearly 1,500 miles of track in Washington, Oregon, northern Idaho and northern California.
Wimmer started his railroad career in 1991 with Union Pacific’s engineering department. He graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1995 with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering.
