WASHINGTON, D.C. — At a hearing before the U.S. Surface Transportation Board on June 22, the chief executive of Union Pacific threatened to cut infrastructure spending and scale back hiring if shippers are successful in obtaining proposed regulatory changes. Rail shippers called for tighter regulations regarding freight rail shipping rates at a hearing before the U.S. Surface Transportation Board yesterday.
