MIDLOTHIAN, Texas — Thirteen cars of a Union Pacific freight train derailed Wednesday near Midlothian, 20 miles south of Dallas, spilling loads of soybeans, the Associated Press reported.
Crews were at work clearing the track. No injuries were reported.
There was no immediate announcement about what caused the train to derailment.
It was the second derailment for a Union Pacific train in Texas in two days. Sixteen cars of a Union Pacific train derailed Wednesday near Coahoma, 90 miles west of Abilene. Hydrochloric acid leaked from a tanker, but the spill was quickly cleaned up. No one was hurt in that derailment either.
