NEW YORK — Analyst Gary Chase of Lehman Brothers maintains his “equal weight” rating on Union Pacific Corp (UNP.NYS), while raising his estimates for the company. The target price has been raised from $126 to $129.

In a research note published on January 25, the analyst mentions that the company has reported its 4Q EPS ahead of the estimates and the consensus. Union Pacific’s performance in the quarter was robust, in view of the delay in fuel recovery and volume losses related to the weather, the analyst says. The company is likely to post robust earnings for 2008, Lehman Brothers adds. The EPS estimate for 2008 has been raised from $8.10 to $8.20.
