HILGARD, Ore. — A train derailment in Eastern Oregon damaged 400 feet of track, but caused no injuries, a Union Pacific spokesman said.
The spokesman, Mark Davis, said eight cars of a train bound from Hinkle to Pocatello, Idaho, derailed west of La Grande early Wednesday. Seven of the derailed cars were carrying feed and the other was hauling lumber.
The cause of the derailment is being investigated, Davis said, and the track should be fixed by Friday.
