ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Crews are cleaning up after a train derailment in Pevely, Mo.

A Union Pacific train derailed behind the Dow Chemical plant near Highway 61/67 in Pevely.

Hazardous material crews and firefighters were called to the scene around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities say six cars derailed. Four were carrying sulfuric acid, but there were no leaks.

Some of the rail cars went down a 100 foot embankment.

Bulldozers with cranes are being brought in to get the cars back on the tracks.

The cause of the derailment is under investigation.

The derailment was reportedly close to a creek which runs into the Mississippi River.

No one is believed injured.
