COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — Council Bluffs police say a Union Pacific railroad worker has died after being hit by a train.
Police Sgt. Dave Dawson says Craig Lang, 41, of Neola was or had been working on a train when he was hit by a train going in the opposite direction about 6 a.m. on Wednesday in Council Bluffs.
Lang died at the scene.
Tom Lange, a spokesman for the railroad, says Lang was employed as a switchman.
