HOUSTON — A Union Pacific employee was killed Sunday when one of the rail cars struck him, authorities said.

The man was working on trains near Bay Area Boulevard and Chemical Road in Pasadena when he was struck about 1 p.m., said the company’s spokeswoman Raquel Espinoza-Williams.

He was pronounced dead on the scene. His identity had not been released by Monday.

Espinoza-Williams said the accident is still under investigation and added that she could not release any further details.
