BROCKVILLE, Ont. — A Via Rail train carrying more than 200 people hit a flatbed truck and partially derailed Tuesday afternoon about 25 kilometres west of Brockville, Ont.

The locomotive and baggage cars at the front of the train derailed when it struck the truck loaded with heavy equipment. The train was carrying 207 passengers and seven crew members from Toronto to Montreal.

A few minor injuries were reported, with one passenger taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Other Via Rail trains travelling the corridor between Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal were affected by the derailment.
