BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — Some folks in upstate New York are seeing something unusual traveling along a Canadian Pacific rail route.

A vintage passenger train making its way from Albany to the Steamtown National Historic site in Scranton, Pennsylvania prompted some nostalgic double-takes today.
The train was heading to the Scranton rail museum for the annual convention of the American Association of Private Railroad Car Owners.

A small group of enthusiastic “rail buffs” gathered along the tracks snapping photographs as the train moved slowly through Afton, 20 miles northeast of Binghamton.

Tomorrow, the train — using steam power — will travel from Steamtown to the
Delaware Water Gap — and back — in a special excursion that will be offered to the general public.
