ERIE, Pa. — There are numerous elements of disagreement between the company and the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America. More than anything, though, the company says the contract hinges on resolving its request for a two-tier wage structure for new employees. Scott Slawson, president of UE Local 506, said the company has put the union in a difficult position. “Sometimes when you have a gun held to your head, it’s a little difficult,” he said. “This is more like demanding and not negotiating.”
