WILMERDING, Pa. — WABCO Transit Division and Vapor Rail, subsidiaries of Wabtec Corporation (NYSE: WAB), have been awarded contracts totaling about $22 million to supply air brakes, couplers, and slim-line door operators and controllers to ALSTOM Transportation, which is overhauling 238 metro cars for the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA).

The components will be delivered to ALSTOM in 2004 and 2005.

“We are pleased ALSTOM continues to place its confidence in Wabtec,” said John M. Meister, Wabtec’s executive vice president, transit. “Including MARTA, Wabtec is supplying components for five ALSTOM programs for transit agencies in Maryland, New Jersey and Washington, D.C.”
