WOOD RIVER — A long-standing Wood River landmark will be closing in September. Watco Co. LLC officials on Tuesday confirmed the company will be closing its Wood River facility commonly known as the “Wood River Dome.” Local governments have been notified under the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, which requires companies to give at least 60 days’ notice when companies employing large numbers of workers will lose their jobs.
