CLEVELAND, September 8 — It is with great pride that the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen announces the return of its esteemed quarterly magazine, Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen Journal.
“This publication traces its roots to the earliest days of organized labor in America,” BLET National President Dennis Pierce said. “First published in January 1867 as the Locomotive Engineers Monthly Journal, today’s Journal is a direct link to the Founding Fathers who established our organization more than 147 years ago.
After a brief hiatus, work to return the Journal to publication began earlier this year and culminated when the return issue — Volume 113, Number 1 — was mailed from Washington, D.C. on August 30. It is also available on the BLET website at:

The Journal will be published quarterly (September, December, March, and June) and will be mailed to all active and retired members of the BLET. It will compliment the BLET’s monthly Newsletter, which focuses on the hard news of the organization.
“The Journal will highlight human-interest stories that profile BLET members and will feature those whose day-to-day commitments have made our Organization the leader of the rail labor movement in America,” President Pierce said.
President Pierce said the Journal will carry a variety of in depth articles, guest columnists, and membership profiles.
“We are especially interested in featuring BLET members and their volunteer activities outside of the railroad,” President Pierce said.
