NORFOLK, Va. — All of our routes have been restored and we continue to clear backlogged freight caused by Hurricane Matthew. The following facilities were impacted by the storm and are operating as follows:

• Charleston – Reopened today, Monday, October 10th. NS began accepting Charleston shipments at all origin NS facilities at 2:00pm Sunday, October 9th.

• Jacksonville – Reopened at 12:00pm Saturday, October 8th for outgates only. Ingates for shipments originating at Jacksonville will open at 3:00pm today, October 10th except for empty EMP returns. We request that drivers ingating with equipment exit with outbound equipment to expedite the flow of traffic. NS will start accepting Jacksonville shipments at all origin NS facilities during normal operating hours starting at 8:00am local Tuesday, October 11th.

• Savannah/Garden City – Reopened today, Monday, October 10th and we are accepting Savannah/Garden City shipments at all origin NS facilities.

• The route to and from Norfolk has been restored and we are operating trains to and from Norfolk.

• The Florida East Coast Railway (FEC) restored their routes through Florida on Sunday, October 9th. Our origin facility gates for Miami/FEC units opened at 2:00pm local, Sunday, October 9th.
