CLEVELAND, November 5 — The following is a statement from BLET National President Don Hahs on Tuesday’s Presidential election:

November 2 was the culmination of years of hard work by BLET members and other union members around the country. While John Kerry did not win, the house of Labor was united in our efforts and we should be proud of what we accomplished.

The solidarity that we demonstrated in the cause of the 2004 elections will carry us through the next four years. Our effort in this election was a step towards achieving a goal which was far larger than just electing a President. We will continue to strive towards our goal of making working families the number one priority in this country throughout the next four years and beyond. We will continue our fight for workers and pledge to work with anyone who will move us closer to reaching our goal.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many BLET members who worked on this campaign and I vow that we will keep up the fight.
