OPELIKA, Ala. — Warren Whitted worked as a conductor for Norfolk Southern based in Irondale beginning with his hire in October of 2010. He was seriously injured in a non-work-related incident in June of 2011 and took a leave of absence. A Norfolk Southern Work Status Report was signed by Whitted’s physician releasing him to return to work as a conductor, without restrictions or accommodations, on Oct. 3, 2011.
