Conservation groups on Thursday sued BNSF Railway Co., accusing the railroad of operating trains that are striking and killing grizzly bears in violation of the Endangered Species Act. The WildEarth Guardians and Western Watersheds Project filed a lawsuit in federal court in Missoula, Montana, claiming trains on BNSF rail lines have struck and killed at least 63 of the threatened bears in northwestern Montana and northern Idaho since 2008.
