Louis P. Shuster, a proud member of the BLET and President of Division 607 (Cleveland, Ohio), was struck and killed on March 6, 2023, when a dump truck collided with a train car at a steel mill in Cleveland. Brother Shuster, 46, was working as a conductor for Norfolk Southern at the time of the accident. He was an Army veteran who hired out in 2005. Brother Shuster earned promotion to locomotive engineer in 2014 and had been a BLET member since 2016.
