On Wednesday, Democratic Senator Maria Cantwell from Washington state led an executive session on the proposed Railway Safety Act of 2023. The bill was introduced by Senators Sherrod Brown and J.D. Vance of Ohio after a major Norfolk Southern derailment in East Palestine, Ohio.
