COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Gov. John Kasich pleased with organized labor leaders to compromise on Senate Bill 5 and cancel a fall referendum on the bill, which seeks to destroy unions and their collective bargaining rights.

Unions needed 231,000 signatures to put SB 5 on the November ballot to give voters a chance to overturn the harmful legislation. The bill is so divisive the unions obtained nearly 1.3 million signatures.
