INDEPENDENCE, Ohio, August 17 — The recommendations of Presidential Emergency Board (PEB) No. 250 were published on Tuesday, August 16. Officers of the BLET National Division, along with legal counsel and the BLET Wage Team, are continuing to analyze the report and meet with all involved General Chairmen prior to making any public comments.
Under the Railway Labor Act, publication of the PEB report triggers another 30-day cooling-off period. During that time, the unions and carriers may continue to negotiate and may reach a tentative agreement based on the PEB’s recommendations. If no settlement is reached, the parties may engage in self-help following the expiration of the 30-day period.
The recommendations of PEB 250 have been made public. The full text of PEB 250 can be found as a PDF on the BLET website here (document is 124 pages): https://ble-t.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/PEB_250_Recommendation_2022.pdf
