WASHINGTON, D.C. — A trainload of about 200 passengers arrived in Washington, D.C. Sunday night many hours late and on buses, thanks to a security alert.

Their Amtrak train was intercepted by police in Cumberland, Md., and 12 passengers cars were searched for about four hours, apparently after a call about two passengers who were acting suspiciously.

Police and the FBI did not immediately provide details or whether they were charging two men who appeared to be in custody, Washington’s WTOP Radio reported.
