Members of the BLET’s Texas State Legislative Board (TXSLB) participated in a “Defend Democracy” dinner hosted by the Lone Star Project in Dallas on May 13. The night’s special guest was U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), who is the ranking member of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability.
Representing BLET at the event was: Ben Wright, TXSLB Chairman; Scott Piekarski, TXSLB Secretary-Treasurer; and Bryce Dondero, TXSLB First Vice Chairman. In addition to meeting with Rep. Raskin, Chairman Wright reports the BLET officers also discussed rail safety issues with U.S. Rep. Lizzie Fletcher (D-TX), U.S. Rep. Marc Veasey (D-TX), and many other statewide leaders from across the Lone Star state.
