Members of the BLET Advisory Board traveled to the nation’s capital on May 16 for meetings with senior White House staff who were joined by top officials from the departments of Labor, Commerce, and Transportation. BLET leaders used the time to advocate for two-person train crews and other rail safety and quality of life issues of importance to BLET members. While in Washington, prior to the meetings with administration officials, the BLET Advisory Board held meetings with the Teamsters Rail Conference and the Transportation Trades Department, AFL-CIO.
